Sugary Drinks Increase Risk of Death - New Study

New research published in JAMA Internal Medicine has revealed a link found in a recent study of 450,000 EU citizens between drinking sugary soft drinks and a greater mortality risk.

"Participants who had two or more a day were more at risk of dying from bowel disease, heart disease and strokes."

This study found that consumption of total, sugar-sweetened, and artificially sweetened soft drinks was positively associated with all-cause deaths in this large European cohort; the results are supportive of public health campaigns aimed at limiting the consumption of soft drinks.
